Dove Domestic Violence Program invites you to join us for “A Night of Awareness” an event to raise awareness about domestic violence in our community and information about services our program provides. Along with the sharing of the vital services available, the evening will feature Courtney Queeney, a writer from Chicago, who will share her personal experiences with domestic violence. The event will be open to the public on Thursday, September 25, 6:00 p.m. at the Decatur Public Library, 130 N. Franklin Street in the Madden Auditorium.
Courtney Queeney is a survivor of domestic violence as well as a known Poet whose poetry has appeared in American Poetry Review, NY Times, etc. She was born in Chicago in 1978. Please come and listen to her message as a preview to October being recognized as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Courtney Queeney is the author of “Filibuster to Delay a Kiss, and Other Poems” and “The View from the Victim Room” was published in The New York Times.
