Social service providers, businesses and individuals interested in the issues surrounding homelessness in Macon County are invited to attend the Homeless Council Continuum of Care Advisory Council Meeting on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 1:30 p.m., at the Homeward Bound Office, 788 E. Clay, Conference Room, Decatur. Agencies will share upcoming activities, discuss unmet community needs and will begin planning for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in November.

There will be a special presentation on a Millikin University’s Performance Learning experience to Los Angeles, California’s Skid Row. Mary Garrison, Professor of Social Work, Millikin University, and her students, Morgan Huffman, Ashley Woods, Ben Viette, Leslie Chandler, and Katie Posch will share on their experiences interacting with extreme, chronic homelessness.

The Continuum has been in existence since 1995 and works to identify and meet the needs of homeless individuals and families in Macon County.
